Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Glasgow

Our clinic is based in the Southside of Glasgow, offering professional lymphatic drainage massage in a calm and welcoming treatment environment.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Glasgow is a very gentle, hands-on massage treatment designed to support the lymphatic system and encourage the natural movement of lymph fluid around the body.

At Healing Point – Glasgow, this treatment uses light, slow, and rhythmic hand movements. It is different from deep tissue massage, as it does not use strong pressure, firm kneading, or painful techniques. The aim is to help the body feel lighter, calmer, and more refreshed.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage may help with the feeling of puffiness, mild fluid retention, heavy legs, post-travel sluggishness, and general body tiredness. It is also suitable for clients who prefer a soft and calming massage rather than strong pressure.

Please note: this is a wellbeing treatment. It is not a medical treatment and does not replace advice or care from your GP, consultant, physiotherapist, or healthcare provider.

For clients who are post-surgery, please wait at least TWO weeks after surgery before booking this appointment. If you are still under medical care, please check with your healthcare provider before booking.

Treatment procedure :

  • Your therapist then leaves the room to allow you to undress in complete privacy.

  • When you are ready, they begin by warming your muscles with light compressions.

  • Then the therapist uses a combination of long gliding strokes, kneading, friction and vibration while regularly checking to ensure that you are comfortable.

  • After the massage, your therapist discusses a self-care plan and recommends follow-up treatments, if necessary.

What is the difference between Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Vacuum Suction Lymphatic Drainage?

Both treatments are designed to support the lymphatic system and encourage the body’s natural drainage process. However, the technique and treatment feeling are different.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is performed using the therapist’s hands with very light, slow, and rhythmic movements. It is usually softer, more calming, and ideal for clients who prefer a gentle hands-on treatment.

Vacuum Suction Lymphatic Drainage uses a professional suction device to gently lift and stimulate the skin and underlying tissue. The suction level can be adjusted to your comfort. This treatment may feel slightly more stimulating and targeted compared with Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is usually the better choice if you prefer a very gentle, relaxing treatment. Vacuum Suction Lymphatic Drainage may be more suitable if you would like a slightly more stimulating treatment using soft suction.

Both treatments should feel comfortable and should not be painful.

Which one should I choose?

Choose Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage if you prefer a very gentle, relaxing, hands-on treatment. It is a good choice if you are sensitive to pressure, feeling puffy, heavy, tired, or simply want a calming treatment.

Choose Vacuum Suction Lymphatic Drainage Massage if you would like a slightly more stimulating treatment using soft suction to support the feeling of circulation, drainage, and lightness.

If you are unsure which treatment is suitable for you, please contact us before booking and we will be happy to guide you.
